Clause 7.4.3: External communication
The organization communicates information about its OH&S management system to outside parties in the way its communication processes lay down, having regard to its legal and other requirements.
What clause 7.4.3 asks
The organization communicates information about its OH&S management system to outside parties in the way its communication processes lay down, having regard to its legal and other requirements.
External communication covers regulators, clients, neighbours and the public. Legal notification duties sit here, and so does the consistency of what the organization publishes.
Client sites, landlords and regulators. Remote work is not always private. A client site, a co-working space or a landlord may control the access, the fire arrangements and the facilities, and a regulator or insurer may ask who was responsible. The public scope includes client sites and mobile roles, so the external communication process has to cover the host's rules and the organization's duty.
Basis: BSI Standards Development, BSI. For clause 7.4.3, the public record is a draft guideline and does not state a requirement in terms that this site can quote. The clause 7.4.3 overlay is our reading of the public scope and the named summaries, not the draft text.

What to do about clause 7.4.3 before the guidance lands
Name the external parties for each remote location and the health and safety information exchanged with them. Keep the host's rules, the emergency arrangements and the contact route in the record, and review them when the location changes.
For clause 7.4.3, do the work that will be right under either instrument. The current requirement for clause 7.4.3 is ISO 45001:2018, and the certificate, if you hold one, is issued against it. The clause 7.4.3 remote working preparation is an extension of the existing duty to a group of workers the system already covers, not a new system and not a reason to rebuild around a draft.
