ISO/DIS 45008 is the draft remote working guidance. This site reads the public record against the 40 ISO 45001 clauses you already run, shows the evidence remote work adds, and gives you a dated plan. The clause register and the free check are free. The kit is USD 299 one off. The watch is USD 29 a month.

Every line links to the clause it comes from. The requirement is the published ISO 45001 clause in our words; the remote overlay names the public 45008 source it rests on; the planning date is an estimate, not an ISO promise.

FREE CHECK

Scope and readiness check

Seven questions about your remote population and the evidence you hold. The check returns whether the public scope covers you, a readiness reading, the publication estimate and the three actions to take first. It never sends your answers anywhere.

The ISO abstract is for regular remote workers on a recurring basis.
The public scope covers a workplace not under the direct control of the organization.
The ISO abstract excludes offsite work and business trips.
Isolation, workload, supervision and work-life boundary.
The law may follow the worker's location. This is not legal advice.

The check runs in your browser and sends nothing anywhere. It applies the published scope, the stage record and the answers you enter. It does not decide conformity.

What the check can decide

Scope and readiness, not conformity

It applies the public scope of the draft and the evidence you report. It does not audit your system, does not decide whether a certification body will accept your arrangements, and does not call anything conformant. The guidance is not a certifiable standard.

What it reads: ISO/DIS 45008 stage 40.60 (close of voting 19 May 2026), the ISO abstract limiting the population to regular remote workers on a recurring basis, the BSI project scope covering workplaces outside the organization's direct control, and the BSI consultation release naming the risk areas. The planning date is an estimate.

What this is for: the person who owns the management system and the consultant beside them, deciding which clause to fix first when the workplace is a kitchen table, a client site or a co-working desk. Every clause page names the evidence an auditor will ask for and the part of the public record the remote overlay rests on, so the answer can be handed to a manager and checked.
THE RECORD

What the public record actually shows

STAGE

A draft, not a standard

Stage 40.60 means the DIS ballot has closed. The committee now decides whether the draft goes to FDIS or back for another ballot. Nothing can be certified against it.

SCOPE

Recurring remote work, wherever it happens

The public scope covers workplaces outside the organization's direct control, including a place the worker chooses. Home work, mobile roles, client sites and co-working spaces can all be inside it. Occasional trips are outside.

Scope and coverage
SUBJECT

Isolation, ergonomics, shared responsibility

The consultation release names isolation, reduced supervision and support, physical, psychosocial and environmental risks, and shared responsibility. It says controls are reviewed as circumstances change.

The system clauses, and the remote overlay

These are the clauses of ISO 45001:2018, including Amendment 1:2024. Each has its own page with the requirement in our words, the evidence an auditor asks for, the common failures and the preparation a remote arrangement needs. The remote working column is the public 45008 theme that touches the clause; no 45008 clause number is claimed.

QUESTIONS

What buyers ask

What is ISO/DIS 45008?

ISO/DIS 45008 is the Draft International Standard for occupational health and safety management guidelines for remote working. ISO records it at stage 40.60, close of voting on 19 May 2026, prepared by ISO/TC 283 Working Group 8. It is a draft guideline, not a published standard, and no certificate can be issued against it. Read the public record.

Does ISO 45008 replace ISO 45001?

No. The public scope says the guidance can be used independently or as part of an occupational health and safety management system, including one based on ISO 45001. It sits beside the management system standard and does not replace it. A certificate is still issued against ISO 45001:2018.

Who does the guidance apply to?

The public scope covers organizations of any size, type and activity that have regular remote workers. It covers work at workplaces not under the direct control of the organization, whether the worker or the organization selects the workplace. The ISO abstract limits the intended population to regular remote workers on a recurring basis and excludes occasional offsite work and business trips. Run the free check.

When will ISO 45008 be published?

ISO has not recorded a publication date. The stage record shows close of voting on 19 May 2026. BSI says publication is expected in 2027. This site uses 13 September 2027 as a planning date, labelled an estimate wherever it appears, and it is not an ISO commitment. The next public checkpoints are stages 40.92, 40.93, 40.99, 50.00, 50.60 and 60.60.

Is this the ISO 45008 text?

No. The draft text is not public and is not reproduced. This is a reference and a checker. The requirement record is ISO 45001:2018, stated in our own words with the clause cited. The remote working overlay is written from the public 45008 record and says which part is public scope, which is a reported area, and which the public record does not state.

What do I get for USD 299?

The remote working preparation kit: a 40-record register, the evidence list, the common gaps and a dated plan to publication, as PDF, CSV and XLSX. The labelled sample shows five rows. The pricing page states the one-off price and what is free. The change watch is USD 29 a month and emails you when the record or its dates change.

THE RECORD

The rules this is built from

Read from the real rules, not invented. The 40 clause-level records are the ISO 45001:2018 requirements, read from the standards library at the standards library: 146 evidence lines and 108 common failure lines, each cited to its clause. The remote working layer is read from the public ISO/DIS 45008 record, the BSI scope and the BSI consultation release. The draft text is not public and is not reproduced.

PROVENANCE

Where the record comes from

The clause record is read from the published ISO 45001:2018 requirement set, checked on 20 October 2026, with Amendment 1:2024 already carried in the two clauses it amends. The remote working record is the ISO standard page 64363, the BSI project scope and the BSI consultation release, all retrieved on 20 October 2026. One practitioner summary is used only to name the subject areas and is labelled. The draft text is not public and is not quoted. Read the sources and the method.
