The sources behind every line
There are three kinds of source here, and the pages say which one a line comes from: the published standard that applies today, the public record of the 45008 draft, and one named practitioner summary used only to name subject areas. The ISO 45001:2018 text is not reproduced. The ISO/DIS 45008 requirement text is not public and is not reproduced.
| Source | Kind | What it is used for | Link |

The DIS text is not public. | Open 2026-10-20 |
| BS ISO 45008 project page, scope of the draft BSI Standards Development | national mirror committee record | The public scope of the draft: guidelines for an organization to manage the health, safety and well-being at work of remote workers; applicable to any organization regardless of size, type and activities; usable independently or as part of an OH&S management system including ISO 45001; covers work at workplaces not under the direct control of the organization, whether the worker or the organization selects the workplace. | Open 2026-10-20 |
| BSI, Views sought on how to protect health and safety of remote workers BSI | public consultation release | The public consultation opened on 23 February 2026 and closed on 23 April 2026; BSI announced it in March 2026. The release names the subject areas: isolation, reduced access to supervision and support, and physical, psychosocial and environmental risks; remote work beyond the home, including mobile roles and client sites; shared responsibility between the organization and the remote worker; practical examples, flowcharts and checklists for hazard identification, risk assessment and ongoing review of controls as circumstances change. | Arinite, Home and hybrid worker health and safety: a complete international guide Arinite | secondary summary | A public practitioner summary that lists the areas the draft is expected to address: risk assessment, physical hazards, psychosocial hazards, equipment and technology, communication and consultation, training and competence, monitoring and review. Used only to name those areas. It is not the draft and is not treated as one. | Open 2026-10-20 |
| ISO/TC 283, ongoing projects ISO | committee record | Records ISO 45008 as the remote working project of ISO/TC 283 Working Group 8. Used for the committee and working group attribution only. | Open 2026-10-20 |
Guidance in the same family, named only
ISO 45002 (implementation), ISO 45003 (psychosocial risks, held for the psychosocial preparation), ISO 45004 (performance evaluation), ISO 45006 (infectious disease) and ISO/PAS 45007 (climate change) are guidance in the same family. They support topics the remote working record touches, but they are not certification standards and this product does not hold the text of each. They are named here so a reader knows where the guidance stops and the requirement begins. See the ISO catalogue.
How the sources are used
- The requirement today is written from our ISO 45001:2018 clause record, with Amendment 1:2024 already carried in 4.1 and 4.2. The evidence and the common gaps come from the same held record.
- The public record is the ISO stage page, the BSI project scope and the BSI consultation release. They give the designation, the stage, the dates, the scope and the subject areas.
- The subject areas are named from the BSI release and one practitioner summary. Neither is the draft. Both are labelled wherever they are used.
- The dates are from the ISO stage record, with the publication expectation from BSI. The planning date is the reader's estimate, labelled. No ISO 45008 transition document exists and none is claimed.
